Event

Calyos to Showcase Advanced Thermal Solutions at COMVEC 2024

Location:

Schaumberg, Illnois

DATE:

September 10, 2024

Calyos is pleased to announce its participation in COMVEC 2024, the premier North American conference for on-highway, off-highway, and defense vehicle industries. Taking place from September 10th to 12th, 2024, in Schaumberg, Illnois, this event will bring together innovators, engineers, and industry leaders to shape the future of commercial vehicle technologies.

Solving Thermal Challenges in Commercial and Off-Highway Vehicles

Modern commercial and off-highway vehicles are pushing the boundaries of power density, efficiency, and reliability, especially as the industry transitions toward electrification and sustainable solutions. At COMVEC 2024, Calyos will highlight how its innovative two-phase cooling solutions address these critical thermal challenges across applications such as:

  • Battery Systems: Ensuring uniform cooling to enhance safety, reliability, and performance in EV and hybrid vehicles.
  • Power Electronics: Providing passive, maintenance-free thermal management for inverters, converters, and other high-heat-generating components.
  • Electrified Powertrains: Enabling higher efficiency and compact designs by removing heat effectively from high-power motors and drives.

Calyos’s two-phase cooling systems, such as the Loop Heat Pipe and Pulsating Heat Pipe, operate passively without pumps or moving parts. This ensures reliable, silent, and efficient heat transfer, even under the demanding conditions of heavy-duty and off-highway environments.

Why Two-Phase Cooling?

Compared to conventional air or liquid cooling methods, two-phase cooling provides unmatched thermal performance and system efficiency by leveraging the principles of phase change. As heat is absorbed, a working fluid transitions from liquid to vapor, carrying energy away from heat-generating components. The vapor then condenses in a remote zone, completing the cycle. This pump-free, energy-efficient process ensures consistent performance while reducing maintenance needs.

Calyos’s solutions are designed for harsh environments, offering rugged, compact, and lightweight systems that are ideal for commercial vehicles, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and military applications.

Join Us at COMVEC 2024

We invite COMVEC attendees to visit our booth and discover how Calyos’s advanced thermal management technologies can help solve the industry’s toughest challenges. Our team will be on-site to discuss specific applications and how our solutions can be tailored to your needs.

Calyos is proud to contribute to the advancement of clean, efficient, and reliable mobility and looks forward to collaborating with industry leaders at COMVEC 2024.

About Calyos

Who We Are
Calyos is a leader in the design and manufacture of two-phase thermal management systems. Building on our heritage from Euro Heat Pipes (EHP) and their space technology expertise, we specialize in innovative cooling solutions that tackle the thermal challenges of tomorrow.
What We Do
We engineer advanced cooling technologies, including loop heat pipes, micro-channel heat pipes, and pulsating heat pipes, to optimize thermal performance across a variety of applications. Typically these include: power electronics, processors, and batteries, but we don't stop there we are continuing to develop and produce fully customizable solutions for other specific needs, for example e-motors and fuel cells.
Where We Operate
Calyos is headquartered in Charleroi, Belgium, where our engineering and production teams work side by side in a state-of-the-art facility. From this base, we serve a global clientele, providing our cutting-edge solutions across North America, Asia, Europe, and South America.
When We Started
Calyos was incorporated in 2014 as a spin-off from Euro Heat Pipes (EHP), which was established in 2001 and has become a major player in the European satellite market. Since then, Calyos has been adapting and evolving EHP's space-grade cooling technologies for terrestrial applications.
Why We Matter
Our mission is to lead the industry towards adopting the most effective and sustainable thermal management solutions. We aim to address the most pressing thermal challenges in the data-driven and electrified environments of today, leveraging passive cooling technologies to achieve superior efficiency and environmental stewardship.
How We Succeed
Our success is driven by our commitment to four core values:
1. Applied Knowledge - Transforming deep technical expertise into market-ready solutions.
2. Better Together - Emphasizing collaboration with all stakeholders to enhance our collective success.
3. Inherent Flexibility - Adapting our solutions and practices to keep pace with evolving market demands.
4. Continuous Research - Persistently innovating to maintain our leadership in thermal technology.
